Drawn together after a rape and seen through each of their
perspectives, six people discover truths about themselves and each
other. Bonds deepen, surfacing past regrets and unforgiveness as
an investigation develops.
Harris and Carmen Ducant struggle to keep their marriage afloat
while balancing their pregnancy attempt and bad stock trades.
Faye, Carmen’s younger sister, tries to swallow her guilt of her
parent’s death through prescription drugs while pursuing a dance
career.
Anthony has just finished probation and new to Los Angles, fleeing
a life of regret in the Bay. He finds a job working at a nonprofit
that Carmen runs, where they begin a friendship. Fresh off
the boat, Moses finds himself flunking out of school as he enjoys
the splendor of the American dream. Facing deportation, he reaches
out to Harris for an internship at his firm.
At the Ducant’s annual party, our hex-tethered pariah’s recall the
night through each of their perspectives after Faye was allegedly
raped. The case lands in the hands of detective Rafe Malone. While
investigating all parties involved, he walks the line of becoming
a widower and sifting through past mistakes with his wife.
All the while, our characters do their own investigating, drawing
each of them closer - yet setting them adrift after Moses goes
missing and Carmen remembers an incident reminiscent to Faye’s.
Another rape surfaces along with a string of murders, naming some
suspect. Will the current roll in the truth before it’s too late
or will it flow out through the tides of life?
